Yiayia’s Place isn’t just a holiday home — it’s a piece of family history, carefully restored and updated to offer both comfort and character. The house is named after the grandmother ("Yiayia" in Greek) who once lived here, and whose sense of warmth and hospitality still shapes the spirit of the home. It’s a place built for gathering, for sharing meals, and for slowing down—just like Yiayia would have wanted. At the same time, the house surprises with comforts you wouldn’t typically expect in a rural Cretan home.
Set over two bright, airy floors, the house easily hosts up to 7 guests, with three bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, and a sleeper sofa in the living room. The interiors balance traditional stonework with modern comfort. While many stone houses can feel dark or cramped, Yiayia’s Place is just the opposite. Natural light fills the interior, and the layout gives everyone room to spread out or come together.
Upstairs, the master bedroom is a standout feature. It includes a private indoor jacuzzi for unwinding in total comfort, and opens onto an impressive terrace that stretches across nearly the entire upper floor. It’s a perfect spot for morning coffee, reading in the shade, or taking in the mountain views.
Outside, the house offers expansive terraces, a large BBQ, ample outdoor seating and dining areas. Whether you're having a long lunch under the trees or soaking under the stars, the outdoor space is as generous as the house itself.
Though tucked away in a quiet village, the location is anything but remote—just a short drive from neighbouring villages, the coast and the lively seaside towns of Kokkinos Pyrgos and Agia Galini. Beaches, tavernas, and local markets are close, but the peace and privacy of the house remain intact.
Yiayia’s Place is ideal for travelers who want more than a base—they want a home that reflects the landscape and culture around it. This house has history, soul, and just enough luxury to make the experience easy and memorable.
